Privacy Policy
Effective 24 October 2026
In short
- We keep your account, the links you save, and the notes made from them, so Memolyz can work.
- Post content and your notes are processed by an AI provider to make summaries and connect related notes.
- No ads, no ad trackers, and your data is not sold.
- You can export or delete all your data at any time from the app.
This policy explains how Memolyz ("we") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Memolyz app and the memolyz.com site. We follow Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022).
Data we collect
Account
Your name, email address, and profile photo (if you sign in with Google). We also keep sign-in sessions, including the IP address and device type at sign-in, to keep your account secure.
What you save and write
Links you share to Memolyz and the text shared with them, personal notes, collections, "want to try" or "tried" marks, your answers in "Remember again", connections you remove, and Ask AI conversations.
Content of the posts you link
To make a summary, we fetch the public post you linked: its title, caption, cover image, the sound and picture of a video, and text shown on screen. The results (transcript, summary, key points) are kept as part of your note.
Devices
The model name and platform of devices connected to your account, and when each last synced, so your notes are the same on all of them.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Memolyz Pro, payment is handled by Google Play. We only receive the subscription status (plan, period, end date), never your card or bank details.
What we do not collect
We use no third-party analytics, ad trackers, or advertising IDs. We do not read your contacts, location, or other files on your phone. "Remember again" reminders are scheduled on your phone itself.
How we use data
- To run Memolyz: summaries, transcripts, search, the note map, Ask AI, and "Remember again".
- To sync your notes across your devices.
- To manage subscriptions and AI feature quotas.
- To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.
- To answer messages you send us.
Your data is not used for advertising and is not sold to anyone.
Who processes data
| Party | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| AI provider (currently Google Gemini) | Writing summaries, reading text and images in videos or photos, and finding similar notes | Post content, titles, tags, and your personal notes |
| Sign in with Google, and payments through Google Play | Name, email, profile photo; subscription status | |
| Server provider | Where Memolyz runs and your data is stored | All of the above, stored on the server |
| AI assistants you connect yourself (such as Claude or ChatGPT) | Reading your notes when you ask them to | Your notes; personal notes only if you allow it |
We also open the links you save on their platform (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Threads, Facebook) to fetch their content. That platform may record that the post was opened.
Storage and security
Data is stored on Memolyz servers and sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). A copy of your notes is also kept on your phone so the app works without internet. That copy is deleted when you sign out. We make daily server backups, kept for up to 14 days.
How long data is kept
For as long as your account is active. Notes you delete are no longer shown and are erased when your account is deleted. When you delete your account, all your data is deleted from the server right away and is gone from backups within 14 days.
Your rights
- See and take your data: Account → Export all data gives one file with your notes, transcripts, collections, and conversations.
- Change it: personal notes, categories, and tags can be edited in the app.
- Limit processing: in Account → Privacy you can turn off automatic summaries, automatic connections, and AI assistants' access to personal notes.
- Delete it: Account → Delete account. How to do it, including without the app, is on the Delete account page.
For any other request about your data, write to halo@memolyz.com.
Children
Memolyz is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. We announce important changes in the app before they take effect.
